UPDATE! Jake just got out of surgery and doing great! They were able to use a nerve from his leg to replace the damaged one in his arm.

On March 24th, Jake was brutally attacked in his hometown of Rincon, PR, in an attempted carjacking. When Jake refused to give his car to the attacker, Jake was deeply stabbed by a knife in his left arm lacerating a main artery.
We are blessed to still have our Snake still here with us and we're praying for another blessing to save his hand!
Due to the serious wound he endured, he needs corrective surgery on his main nerve because if the nerve fails, he will lose his left hand. The surgery will also provide Jake with the ability to regain movement and sensation in his ring and pinky fingers.
Originally his surgery was set for April 3rd and has been rescheduled for April 23rd as he is falling short of funds to afford the procedures he needs as he is unable work due to his injury. Post surgery, Jake will need to undergo physical therapy in Rincon so will not be able to return to Montauk, NY, where he works in the summer months.
Many of us consider Jake as the ornery little brother we never had; I am lucky enough to call him family by marriage of our siblings. Evocative of good times, whether Jake is your surfing parter or your infamous 'snake juice' server, he is sure to put a smile on everyone's face he encounters. We ask for your support in saving Snake's hand which he will payback in the surplus of good spirits he shares with us.
