Surgery For Portobello
I have owned Portobello for eleven years. He is an OTTB that raced up until six years old. He was rescued from slaughter, emaciated and full of fungus. I had purchased him shortly after. This horse has not only taught me to be the rider who I am, but he has touched the hearts of so many others including my 16 month old daughter, Layla. He is not your ordinary horse, full of spunk, personality like no other. He is special in each and every way. We have grown together as a team and he needs all the love and support he can get . I had him since he was 7 and is now 19.
Bello unfortunately had a bad colic this afternoon, we do not know how long this has been going on. Dr. Sierra came down and everything we have done has not helped. There is an obstruction somewhere and he is currently en route to Ruffian hospital. There is a high chance he will need surgery. We unfortunately do not have the money up front for this. With a husband who lost his job back in March and caring for my daughter, any amount donated will be greatly appreciated.
I cannot lose this horse. Portobello is my life, he has saved me from severe depression and anxiety. He is my everything and will be my daughters everything. This boyhas carried my daughter in leadline classes, he is a saint.
