Hi, my name is Vickie. While I’m away at college in my final semester my Mom had to take my Moose to the vet after weeks of what we thought was a sprained paw. After rest and some medication he wasn’t getting any better. Our vet wanted to do a more thorough exam and thought perhaps he had a pinched nerve in his neck, that is when the doctor found a huge mass on his right shoulder. He suspected it to be osteosarcoma, a very aggressive bone cancer and extremely painful. Radiography imaging were done today that his suspicions was true . My nightmare! Osteosarcoma is a very aggressive painful cancer. The only 2 humane options were amputation of the right front leg or Euthanasia. I can’t even explain the knot in my stomach when i heard of this. Moose is my best friend and he is such a gentle soul. My family decided to give our angel a chance, he is only 3 years old and we opted to undergo the amputation which is costly. Moose will also need 4 rounds of chemotherapy to help the spread of this horrible cancer to other parts of his body. If you can donate anything to help my family pay for my Moosey!!
