Surgery for my Baby Kenzo
Donation protected
We are so embarrassed to be here asking this, but we need all the help we can get. On 1/18/20 we lost our baby boxer Noah that was 10 years old and he passed away in my arms on my bed. On 1/28/20 we picked up his remains from Access Specialty Animal Hospital. They were treating him for congestive heart failure since May and we had spent over $10,000 from May to the day he passed. When we got home we setup a memorial space in our house for him and four hours later Kenzo, our 11 year old Shiba Inu was running around on the grass and slipped on the concrete and fell. We noticed right away that he was not able to move his hind legs or even stand up at all. We rushed him to Access Specialty Animal Hospital where we had just picked up Noah’s remains. After several tests and $2,200 later we found out that he had torn his anterior cruciate ligaments in both of his back legs and is unable to stand or walk. We were informed that he would need TPLO Bilateral surgery at the cost of $9,000 and at this current time we just don’t have that kind of money. We are completely devastated that we lost our baby boy a week ago and now the same day that we picked up our baby’s remains, my our other baby is unable to walk, stand or even move. At the moment he needs constant care and needs to be carried to eat, drink and go outside to urinate and defecate. I know that this sounds like a lot to spend on a dog, but he not just a dog to us. He is my child that we raised from a baby and we see him as such since we don’t have any human children. We are at a loss about what to do and don’t know how to even come up with this kind of money. I’ve applied for every kind of pet care credit out there and have been turned down. We asked ACCESS ANIMAL HOSPITAL if we could set up some form of payment plan as we have had Noah as a patient of theirs for close to a year and have spent thousands of dollars with them. We were told that that is not an option and we would need to pay them in full for Kenzo to receive the surgery. They sent him home with some pills and told us to come back when we can come up with the money and that we need to set up the surgery a soon as possible. It kills me that we had to bring him home and just keep him on medication so he’s not suffering. We are trying everything we can to make this situation as easy and stress free as possible for Kenzo. We are trying to bring his food and water to him but he just doesn’t seem to be interested. Having to literally carry him outside to go potty is difficult on us and I can’t even imagine how it makes him feel. If any of you can help us in any way with this situation we would be forever grateful. We honestly don’t know what else to do so here we are.
