Surgery for Meow Meow’s Respiratory Relief
Donation protected
I’m Alex Osowski, my kitty bear Meow Meow needs a complicated surgery so he can properly breathe again.
Meow Meow began having respiratory issues back in February 2025. I didn’t think much of it, because it just seemed like congestion from how dry and cold it was. In March, it began to get worse, and I had him seen in April.
He had two weeks of antibiotics, which helped, but only temporarily. His symptoms began to worsen again after a week or two.
May 9th, he had an episode of coughing, wheezing, and seemingly struggling to breathe. I brought him to the emergency vet. The Dr strongly suggested Meow Meow get a CT.
May 28th, Meow Meow had the CT and they found a half inch (1.53cm) polyp, stemming from the middle ear. I spoke with the doctor who saw over these results and examined Meow Meow. He said that the polyp could be plucked out, but chances are the polyp is going to keep returning and may have to get removed once a year.
Or, Meow Meow could have a bulla osteotomy done. This is a more complicated procedure, requiring them to remove the polyp and go into the ear canal to scrape the lining of the middle ear. It is a delicate procedure, but the polyp is least likely to return in this instance.
This procedure, along with possible antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications, is said to be $4000 or more.
Meow Meow and I could really use your help. Anything, even $5, makes a difference. Thank you <3
