Surgery for JellyBean

Donation protected
If you are a friend, family member or a member of our local horse community, then you know of JellyBean.  JellyBean has been a very important and special member of my family for almost 20 years.  He started as my cousin Kerri's show pony, and then when she outgrew him he moved on to become one of my best lesson ponies.  Jelly is one of the most loving, trustworthy and entertaining ponies.  He knows how to drink from a cup and LOVES Dunkin Donuts....he can spot a Dunkin cup from a mile away.   In his almost 20 years with us, he has literally done it all....beginner - advanced lessons, pony jumpers, leadline, short stirrup, pre childrens, gymkhana, trail riding, swimming, pulling a sled....he even gave pony rides inside Twin River Casino!   He has dressed up as a poodle, a Patriots football player, Batman, a unicorn and more.  He has touched the lives of so many children and done so much for so many people over the years I couldn't even begin to count.   But now the time has come where Jelly needs something from all of us.  Back in March Jelly came up lame on his left hind leg.  We had him ultrasounded, and it showed his annular ligament was enlarged.   We decided to give him 3  months stall rest and see how he was, with plans of me retiring him and bringing him home if he wasn't able to continue lessons. Unfortunately, he started having days where it was hard for him to walk, and I can not retire him if he will not be 100 percent comfortable all the time.  We had  Enda from Ocean State Equine come out for a second opinion and to re-ultrasound him, and Enda felt he is a good candidate for surgery.  With the surgery there is a 75% chance he will return back to full work (showing, jumping..etc), and a 25% chance he will be serviceably sound for some lessons and light riding.  Either way the surgery is a positive outcome for him, and aside from this injury he is a very sound and healthy pony so he deserves the chance.   I am not one to ask for help, and it has been difficult for me to even do this, but Jelly deserves this, so I am trying to do everything I can to be able to help him.  Please consider donating to his surgery, any small amount will help!  Jelly loves and thanks each and every one of you.
