Hi my name is René,
A little background into Iyla and my life. I adopted Iyla back in 2013 while I was living in Canada for work. Immediately we had a strong bond and I felt a deep connection to her that I’ve never felt with another dog. She did have some pretty serious behavioral issues when I adopted her and I spent many hours/days/months and years to help her overcome the behaviors. I finally found the company I currently represent, who helped me train and build an even stronger bond with Iyla. The next week after she graduated I decided I needed to learn how I could help owners and dogs just like I did. I became a professional dog trainer.
Jump forward 5 years and here we are today. Iyla has been by my side on a daily basis helping me showcase what a trained, happy and well mannered dog looks like. She goes to every evaluation, most sessions and around in public like we are attached at the hip. She is my best friend and business partner. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have found a career that I am passionate about where I can help people and dogs live their best lives together.
Iyla was diagnosed with Glaucoma October 2021. While the last year has been manageable with medications, her eye took a turn for the worst over the last month and a half. The new medications have been helping to alleviate her discomfort and keep the eye relatively healthy/healing. However, this is going to be a recurring issue for the remainder of her life. It has been advised to to remove the eye and avoid further complications down the road. The surgery is a big financial burden on our little furry family. While the goal is high, Iyla and I are appreciative of any help received. She will be going into surgery December 27th.
thank you for reading this far! We are looking forward to a comfortable remaining few years for iyla!
