Hey, my name is Jay and I am doing this for my dear friends Gene, and his person, Jo.
Gene started limping about a week ago and after a trip to the vet and a few meds to see if that might fix the problem, they decided it was a good idea to go see a vet oncologist and dig in a bit deeper.
long story short - Gene has a bone lesion on his front right leg and it’s osteosarcoma. He goes in to get his leg amputated next Tuesday. His chest X-rays are clear, so they are confident that it has not metastasized, but will likely do some chemo after just to make sure.
This is not an inexpensive thing and Jo is going to need some help making sure Gene can get the surgery and the proper care he needs next week.
I know I could make this a lot longer... but the fact of the matter is that most anyone reading this has been to The Concourse, and has met Gene on numerous occasions and knows how much he means to not only Jo and the staff here, but to every patron that comes in and grins from ear to ear when they see him. Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.
