Surgery for Gani

Gani, my husband has been battling Ulcerative Colitis for 8 long years. Unfortunately, there is no known cure or cause for this disease. The only treatment is lifelong medicine or to have his entire colon removed. Since 2015, Gani has been on a variety of medications. His body has quickly become immune to any medicine he has taken and his last option was to have his entire colon removed. In December of 2022, Gani underwent a 10 hour long operation to have his colon removed. In February of 2023, he had another surgery for reverse ileostomy. Both surgeries were a success until 5 months later when a bowel perforation caused him so much pain he had to undergo an emergency surgery due to the life-threatening condition. He was released from the hospital after a week after still complaining to the doctors he has a high temperature and did not have any energy to get out of bed. After a few days he returned the hospital and through a cat scan, ultrasound and x-ray they doctors found an abscess in his lower abdomen. He was treated and released again after a few days. Three weeks later, he had an infection from the surgery which then he had to have surgery again. Since then he has been in and out of the hospital for 3 months every few days due to the infection. Because he wasn’t getting better from the treatment at Sistina hospital in Macedonia, he decided to go to Istanbul for further treatment. Since being back he has been doing better and has an upcoming surgery in November in Istanbul, Turkey for reverse ileostomy. The donations will be sent to my husband through money transferring services like western union and money gram. Unfortunately, in Macedonia there is a lack of “good” hospitals and because of the “pre-existing” condition, no insurance company will cover the costs and has become an expensive out of pocket surgeries and treatment. I write this message to get support from anyone no matter the size of the donation.
