Surgery for EmmyLou

Donation protected

On January 3rd, I took in two corgis, EmmyLou & Murphy, who needed to be rehomed immediately. They were coming from a situation were the owner has loss the capacity to take care of them and their well-being was suffering. After my cat of 19 1/2 years passed away this spring, I had been thinking about pet adoption. When my friend reached out to me about these two adorable dogs, my heart spoke and said yes. My heart breaks when I think about animals lacking the love and care they need. While two dogs is a lot to take on, I have an abundance of love to offer.

A lot of other details weren’t known at the time of me taking them in. My vet was able to get their vet records sent over and there were indications that EmmyLou might have a need of a cystotomy but the old owner didn’t act on it. After getting X-rays done at my vet, we discovered sweet EmmyLou has six large stones in her bladder. The surgery has been scheduled for Monday. This is a huge unexpected cost within the first two weeks of adopting the dogs. I’m absolutely ready for the expense of being a dog mom, but this is definitely something I wasn’t expecting so soon. And with some unexpected expenses this fall to travel back to the Midwest multiple times to help my family recovering from surgeries, I could use yourhelp.

EmmyLou and Murphy are sweet cuddly corgis. They are up there in age and deserve the best lives possible. I intend to give them that. Please consider donating any amount to help offset this big expense and help EmmyLou get the care she deserves and needs.
