I met Messak 2013 when I volunteered at an organisation for physically challenged kids and youth in Offinso, Ghana. He was friends with a few of the kids and constantly showed up to give them a hand and keep them happy. At the same time he supported his own family as the oldest sun who took over the role of the head of the family after his dad died. We became friends and stayed in contact ever since. A few friends and I have supported him financially to go to highschool and now to a teacher's university.
He's got the biggest heart you can imagine, but unfortunately it's not healthy. For the last few month he felt very sick and weak. The doctor said that he needs a heart surgery to repair or replace his mitral valves (A healthy mitral valve keeps the blood moving in the right direction. A leaky valve doesn't close the way it should, allowing some blood to flow backward into the left chamber).
From the information that he got from his hospital, this kind of surgery can only be done by a doctor from abroad who comes to Ghana only once a year. He's on the list of patients but has to wait for the surgery date.
Thanks for already showing up on this website and considering helping people in need. Thank you GoFundMe for making that happen and a massive thanks for you who support Messak! Let's make this world a better place <3 Arohanui
See if you can find him in here :)
