Hi Friends,

As many of you know Owen is heading into his 2nd left Hemispherectomy surgery for epilepsy. After his first epilepsy surgery we experienced 2.5 years of seizure freedom but they came back. After years of testing, in October of 2021 they finally caught the origin of these seizures… a missed connection. He has an incomplete Hemispherectomy. Owen will have his brain operated on yet again, 5 years and 1 day after his last one to be exact, on Thursday, June 23rd.

We aren’t sure the how long our stay in the hospital will be. Last time it was 10 days and 2 surgeries. The Hemispherectomy and then replacement of his life saving VP shunt. It doesn’t take a rocket scientists to know how stressful and traumatic these surgeries are for our family.

I am asking for donations to help ease the cost of staying away from home. Our biggest expense is usually food, travel if we can muster the nerve to take a break and anything we think may make Owen or ourselves a little more comfortable. Eating is such a hard thing after his surgery. We get desperate and try everything we can think of. Food for 2-3, 3x a day gets expensive.

Please keep us in your prayers as we go through the next few hardest weeks. Pray for Owen, that he comes through this better than ever before. Pray for the hands of his surgeon, to guide him to the ever elusive seizure causing connection. Pray for our strength not to lose our faith or our patience with watching our one and only endure what most will never have to experience in their lifetimes.

This made it really hard to move forward… he had 2 seizures yesterday which was the confirmation showing this needs to be done.
