Hey everyone! In a month, I'm getting bottom surgery with Dr. Bluebond-Langner and Lee Zhao in New York. The surgery is covered by my insurance, but the travel and recovery costs are not, and this is going to cost my family thousands of dollars that we don't really have. NYU requires patients to stay in the city for two weeks after they get out of the hospital to ensure that they are recovering well. My mom and dad are coming out to take care of me post-op, and we have had to spend over $2000 on lodging alone. I come from a low-income family -- I'm able to go to college because of a Pell grant and loans -- and my medical transition has made paying the bills even harder. If you can donate or share this, it would mean the world to me, and it would make this process a lot less scary.
