Hi everyone, thank you for visiting the site. My name is Cynthia Maldonado (Corella) and I created this fundraiser on behalf of my family due to a medical emergency of my cousin Alejandra Corella (29 years old) who is originally from Chihuahua, Mexico.

Approximately 18 months ago, Ale started noticing an increase in the volume of her hands and legs, as well as a sensation of paresthesias and sudden mood changes. 3 months ago, Ale presented a decrease in visual acuity on the right side and was treated by multiple doctors in Canada who gave multiple diagnoses without improvement.

On Friday, June 16, 2023, Ale went to a private doctor in Chihuahua, Mexico where she has been diagnosed with a Subarachnoid Hemorrhage as a result of an MRI. Images showed the skull with a growing hormone-producing pituitary adenoma with compression of the optic nerve. She was referred to the Neurosurgery service on Monday, June 16, 2023, where the diagnosis was confirmed and expressed the need for surgical management as soon as possible to avoid further complications. Alejandra will be going into surgery Monday, June 26, 2023, at 5 am. The funds being raised will be used to cover the current and future medical expenses that will be incurred. Following Alejandra's surgery, she will be staying at the hospital for observation and treatment. Other procedures are possible but not yet confirmed. This depends if any complications arise from the surgery. Every single contribution will be appreciated.

Hola a todos, gracias por visitar el sitio. Mi nombre es Cynthia Maldonado (Corella) y creé esta recaudación de fondos en nombre de mi familia debido a una emergencia médica de mi prima Alejandra Corella (29 años) originaria de Chichuaha, México.

Hace aproximadamente 18 meses, Ale empezó a notar un aumento de volumen en manos y piernas, una sensación de parestesias y cambios bruscos de humor. Hace 3 meses, Ale presentó una disminución de la agudeza visual del lado derecho y fue tratada por múltiples médicos en Canadá quienes dieron múltiples diagnósticos sin mejoría.

El viernes 16 de junio de 2023 Ale acudió a un médico privado en Chihuahua, México donde le han diagnosticado una Hemorragia Subarachhniod como resultado de una resonancia magnética. Las imágenes mostraban el cráneo con un adenoma hipofisario productor de hormonas en crecimiento con compresión del nervio óptico. Fue remitida al servicio de Neurocirugía el día lunes 16 de junio de 2023 donde se confirmó el diagnóstico y expresó la necesidad de manejo quirúrgico a la brevedad para evitar mayores complicaciones. Alejandra entrará a cirugía el lunes 26 de junio de 2023 a las 5 a.m. Los fondos recaudados se utilizarán para cubrir los gastos médicos actuales y futuros en los que se incurrirá. Después de la cirugía, Alejandra permanecerá en el hospital para observación y tratamiento. Otros procedimientos son posibles pero aún no confirmados. Esto depende si surge alguna complicación de la cirugía. Cada contribución individual será apreciada.
