Surgery and recovery for Jesse Coello

UPDATE 8/21: Jesse was released from Riverbend last night and is home now. With the early donations he was able to get an adjustable hospital bed for home and is going to be better able to position himself to get in and out of bed and do at home physical therapy on his own. Thank you all so much! We can't wait to see more improvement in his right leg mobility and we continue to stay very positive in all his progress so far. Small steps are big wins right now!

Jesse and Lacey Coello went into Riverbend Hospital on Tuesday the 15th because Jesse was losing feeling and movement of his right leg and his right arm was also starting to tingle and lose feeling. He was informed that evening that he needed emergency back surgery for two herniated disc's that were causing nerve damage. He now has a long road to recovery with physical therapy and hoping the nerve damage can be reversed and repaired. This has been a very hard time for them financially as he started having severe back pain at the start of the year and was also recovering from a pulmonary embolism when his back took a turn for the worse. He had been out of work for most of the year up to this point because of these health issues and my sister, Lacey, has had to take a lot of time off work to help her husband with hospital and doctor visits. They have three beautiful children. Delilah is 10, Amelia is 8 and Ezra is 3. They have had to watch their dad become unable to be the fun and active dad that they were used to. I would love to help them with his recovery process and possibly take a small burden off thier shoulders with the costs of hospital stays and the surgery. He is going to need some medical equipment at home and at least 6 months of physical therapy at home and through doctors visits.
