Hey everyone! If you know me, then you know I’m not one for doing much on social media, but we really need your help! I am creating this on behalf of my good friend, who, since I’ve known him, has been feeding, rescuing, and giving homes to cats and dogs in need of it. He has taken in strays to give them forever homes and if he can’t, he provides them with food and helps to find them homes. He recently just saved a newborn kitty who is now staying with a friend of mine. All of his animals are rescues…. Which brings us to Shiba. Shiba is about 4 years old. She was frequently abused, underfed and abandoned in his neighborhood. Of course he took her in and started to work with her to become comfortable and she’s come a long way! He recently noticed her developing a limp and it turned out to be pretty rough news. They found cancer in her shoulder, which luckily has not spread yet, but her shoulder is in bad shape. The vet suggested amputation (which is a given at this point), and chemotherapy with a trial vaccine to help the cancer prognosis. She’s a sweet girl with some weariness for people (understandable), but loves her dad and we can’t give up on her. She’s had such a rough start to life and she deserves the best fighting chance she can get for a long, happy life. The vet has given an estimate of 8-12,000$ after the amputation and chemotherapy.
