Douglas Suazo Laguna lives in Barrio La Quinta in Managua, Nicaragua. He was born albino and lost his arms due to skin cancer over a decade ago. When I met him in 2017 he was still working, distributing bread in a large tricycle! Not having arms did not deter him from providing for his wife and son, who has disabilities. Unfortunately, living in poverty, he never had access to sun screens, and has spent most of his life exposed to the brutal effects of the sun on a skin without any pigments. His cancer has spread to his leg. It has to be amputated. Douglas is in terrible pain but mostly he is devastated and depressed because he knows he won’t be able to work. He needs to undergo chemotherapy. I’m fundraising to help him and his family to cover bills and living expenses until they figure out what’s next. Medical treatment is free in Nicaragua, but they need support for basic needs. Please help me help them. Many blessings for your kindness.
