Surgeries for Wes Eames #HelpTheEamesFamily

Hello friends, family, and kind strangers. I am hoping to raise funds for my dad.
He has had ulcerative colitis for 27 years, which has caused severe inflammation of his digestive tract. From 1994-2006, he was on Asacol, Purinethol, Lialda, & Balsalazide, until each of those failed. Then he received Remicade IV infusions for 13 years until his body stopped responding to that drug’s effects. In January of 2020, he experienced a bad flare up. After four months, Xeljanz put dad into remission. In February 2021, the colitis flared up again but this time was the most severe. At this point, he had exhausted all medications. Our only option was for dad’s colon to be removed.
Dad has endured the first of three surgeries. His colon has been removed and he is now recovering. In 5-6 months time, another surgery will be necessary for reconstructive purposes. 2-3 months after that, a final surgery will be necessary to reconnect his organs. This link provides a more detailed explanation of this long process: Surgery explanation
Dad was in and out of work last year due to his medical conditions. He found a new job in February but has not been able to work since March. Therefore, he hasn’t been with the company long enough to qualify for long term disability insurance. He has a high deductible and high max out of pocket with his insurance. His present job cannot guarantee his position when he is able to return to work. These funds will not only help the costs of the surgeries, but also help supplement the loss of income dad has faced over the past 14 months and will face during his recovery period. In addition, some medical supplies are not included and will need to be purchased.
We cannot thank you enough for taking the time to help out with Dad’s tough road ahead. We greatly appreciate all of the support, donations, shares, and prayers. Please continue to pray for our family.
