Surgeries for Drake's Legs
Donation protected
Two young boys found two very scared young dogs living in the woods in the New Albany, MS area. There's little doubt that they were abandoned.
These kind boys have been carrying food and water to them for quite some time to win their trust so they could be touched. They named them Drake and Suzy.
Once they made friends with them, they started looking for rescue help. Someone contacted Yellow Rabbit Animal Rescue and asked if we could do anything. Seeing the picture made the decision heartbreakingly easy.
With help from the brothers, we rescued the two siblings, Drake and Suzy, from the rain and mud. As you can see from the pictures, Drake's legs are far from normal.
After going straight to the vet for a complete exam, it was found that BOTH of Drake's legs had been broken. They have healed this way, and he needs corrective surgery. This is his only chance.
The veterinarian who saw him initially has volunteered to donate all follow up care, but the two surgeries will need to be done by an orthopedic specialist.
I can't imagine how much he suffered walking on those broken legs trying to survive.
Your help would be much appreciated. I assure you that no amount is too small! Thank you on Drake's behalf!
For some reason, the registration won't pull up my EIN, but I'm including a picture of our paperwork to show we are legitimate. Thank you again for Drake!
