Back at the end of June I was deeply saddened that I had to close surface cafe after operating it for nearly 7 years.

in this time I built many relationships some long standing and memorable. It was a pleasure meeting each and every one of you.

It was incredibly moving to receive your notes, cards, gifts, texts, messages, phone calls, hugs of sadness and and support for having to close our beloved Cafe.

The hardest aspect was the impact on our community. We so grateful for your love.

So many of you kindly asked if there was anything you could do to help.

I have decided after several customers suggested it to me to start a GoFundMe page. Without going into too much detail, most of you are aware from our posting, that through no fault of my own I’ve been left with considerable debt. This now impacts all aspects of my life. The loss to myself and my family has been really tough.

I realise that the Cafe was closed back in June and I am only able now to ask for help after dealing with six months of illness, mental fatigue and anxiety.

Any funds raised would firstly go towards paying and reducing debt that I have incurred. Once I have paid off my debts I will have the opportunity to open another business and to maybe own my own house again and to contribute to some savings for my future.

I understand the past three years has been tough for all businesses so in response to you and my community offering to help, I’ve decided to accept.
