Surf, Play & Heal Pediatric Foundation

Hi Fam,

 

As many of you know, after dedicating my past 7 years to building & supporting programs that increase access to better quality healthcare and needed social resources, I am in the process of taking a pause to focus on my own mental health. I've been falling in love with El Salvador, its beauty, and mostly the profound generosity and open hearts of the people I have met here. That's been its magic for me. During this time, I've had the privilege to meet the amazing people behind a foundation that I believe can have a true and growing impact on communities in El Salvador.

 

The “Surf, Play & Heal Pediatric Foundation” founded by Dr. Joseph Fernández Cabrera (Sports Medicine and Pediatrics Board Certified) is holding its annual event to provide free medical checkups and school supplies to over 200 children 8-13 years old from communities who face barriers to access to healthcare, needed resources, and economic developmental opporunities.

 

Since 2019, they’ve delivered free medical checkups and school supplies to more than 100 children each year. This year, we expect over 200 children from the communities of Las Flores, El Toro, La Ventana and El Majague, located in the east coast of El Salvador. The event will take place in Playa El Majague on the 8 th of July, beginning with free medical checkups, handing out school supplies and ending with a soccer tournament.

 

For this event, monetary donations will be used to buy school supplies from local vendors from the same area to support their businesses.

 

Any amount makes a big different and is appreciated by the foundation and community members. We will send all of our sponsors info on how your donations were used with a recap of the event.
