Surf Kayaking World Championship Argentina 2024

Hi, my name is Anna and I have just recently moved to Brighton. I'm raising funds to help me get to the Surf Kayaking World Championship in Argentina, May 2024.

I have been kayaking since 2021 in Bude, Cornwall and was introduced to the sport working for an outdoor pursuits company. In my first competition in June 2022 I competed in the ladies category as I was the only junior female. I have been accepted onto the England team and would love to compete in the junior female category for two reasons. First, because this sport is my passion and it is an amazing opportunity for me. Second, junior females are underrepresented in this sport and I would love for this to change.

The categories that I am competing in are Long boat open, Long boat Women, Short boat Women and Short boat Junior.

Since my first competition I have attended many competitions including the British Championship in Wales in September 2023 where I placed second in female short boat.

The 2024 World Championship starts on 3rd May and finishes on the 13th. I will fly out to Argentina a few days early (late April or early May) to practice and prepare. My parents are very supportive and have helped me buy kit as well as driving me across the country to competitions and training but I will be unable to make this trip without extra funding. The money that I raise would be put towards flights, transport for my kayak, accommodation, insurance and extra kit needed to travel.

This is an opportunity of a lifetime to be able to compete for my country in a sport that I love. Please help me and be a part of my journey to get there.
