help us to survive
Hi dear reader! My name is Rena Al-Hela, a 21-year-old university student from central Gaza, Maghazi refugee camp. It is my sweet fortune that the name Rena means music and melody, but, and with a ripped heart, I am no longer sure if that fits me anymore.
War has ripped off every bit of a peaceful life. Maslow's hierarchy of basic human needs have never been unfulfilled from day one of the war until today. My father, the breadwinner, has lost his job in journalism as being a journalist could cost one's life in Gaza, and my two brothers are not yet full teenagers.
I am writing to you at a time all I think of is fear of imminent starvation, terror of an astray bullet or a nearby missile that could destroy the hanging walks of our half-shattered house, and how to complete my university fees.
At this moment, we live in a severe famine. For long months, we had no sugar, no bread, nor any basic food elements to satisfy our hunger. Flour prices rose above 500$ for a 25 kilogram bag, THOUGH, I can't put such a blame on my father. He has been doing his best. What killed my heart was when my little siblings asked my father for something to eat. All he could do was nodding in pain.
Please, every time you think of needy people who are really in burning need of your charity, don’t forget us. You may be the only light left for us. Donate if you can in order for us to buy food and complete my university fees if possible. If you can't, please let at least your prayers hit us with peace and for salvation.
