Preston Crites and Family
Donation protected
(Brandon is keeping his eyes on Preston's heart monitor, and Tristan is amazed by all the beeping noises.)
My name is Miranda Kelley and I am trying to raise money for my amazing friend Victoria Crites. She is a wonderful friend and wife, as well as a loving mother for, now, two sons. She gave birth to a beautiful baby boy a few weeks ago and was expecting to care for him and go back to work after some months. Preston was a healthy baby boy who was moving and kicking in her tummy throughout the pregnancy.Immediately from the precarious moments of Preston's birth, Victoria and her husband Brandon were shocked to discover that Preston had multiple very serious medical issues. Baby Preston is not physically able to move his body, cry, or swallow. Every test to determine the cause or causes of Preston's differences have come back negative. Without an answer as to how or why Preston became that way; Victoria and her husband are doing everything in their power to love and support their newborn baby. For the first week, they were able to spend every day and night with their newborn son while they stayed at the Ronald McDonald House. It became much harder when her husband had to return to work and the cost of gas to and from the hospital for each of them burned their savings account quickly. Then the money for food went to gas, and her husband struggles to stretch his gas to make it to work and home during the week. He is not able to afford to make the drive up to Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas during the week days. Victoria spends every waking hour in the day visiting and caring for Preston, while juggling her two year old and returning home in the evening to make dinner and care for her family. Victoria and Brandon need help raising money to help pay for gas, food, and Preston's medical bills and unpredictable needs.
Please understand that the family has no answers, no consolation, no clue even as to his daily life expectancy. They count every single minute, hour, and day that Preston is with them as a bessing. My hope is that we can help them focus less on the stress of money, and more on the precious moments they have with Preston. (Who just hit 5 lbs 10 oz!)
Thank you for reading, and thank you on behalf of the Crites for any donation you may make.
