Support Taylor's Recovery
Donation protected
Hi all,
The outpouring of generosity on Taylor's original GoFundMe was amazing. As mentioned, "the costs associated with transportation, parking, and lodging at the medical center itself with the transportation/parking costs" truly add up. Your support has helped cover family members longer term trying to keep a watchful eye and support system for Taylor, as this will be a long recovery for her.
This GoFundMe is strictly dedicated to the extensive medical bills for Taylor's stay. Between the life flight in, the ICU and the multiple surgeries, treatments, and constant support staff waiting on Taylor in the hospital, every donation will help. Please consider donating to support those who have supported her in this process: the pilots, emergency doctors, surgeons, nurses and physical therapists. Insurance (multiple insurances are being used) will only cover so much no matter how good! These bills are going higher in higher and are currently over $10,000. With your support, we can prevent further heartache with respect to financial issues as we walk through this journey with Taylor. Please see below for Taylor's story:
"On the night of Wednesday, May 9th, between the hours of 10:15-11:00 pm on I-45, Taylor was in a severe car accident. Taylor was returning to her apartment in Huntsville from her final shift at Dick's Sporting goods in The Woodlands.

Something caused Taylor to swerve off of the road and flip about 4 times in the construction zone under the shadow of the statue of General Sam Houston. Taylor suffered from a lacerated spleen, which upon arrival at the hospital was removed because the bleeding could not be stopped. Her lungs were so severely bruised that she was intubated on the scene. Taylor also received a fracture across the top portion of her skull, and a broken left hand.
Since then, Taylor has been in a fight to recover. She is in STICU at the Memorial Hermann Medical Center, being seen by some of the best trauma nurses, neurosurgeons, general surgeons, that medicine has to offer. She has had a splenectomy, craniotomy, and will eventually have some form of reconstructive surgery on her left wrist and hand as well as a tracheotomy so her lungs can begin regaining their strength. She has been intubated and heavily sedated since her arrival at Memorial Hermann.
So far, she has had a port inserted into her head, a clot removed from her brain, and a breathing tube inserted as her lungs are too weak to breathe on her own.
5/19 UPDATE:
Taylor has been improving slowly but surely every single day. Every test and scan comes back showing good results! Today she is more alert and moving around a lot more. The Doctors are hopeful to be taking the port out of her head soon (possibly even today) and remove the breathing tube, and perform a tracheotomy (this will help her to recover quicker and get her back to breathing on her own)."
Thank you for your generosity!
