Early in May, Berkeley High teacher Tasha Jackson's family suffered a profound tragedy with the loss of one of their newborn twins. As her family seeks to recover from this loss, Tasha will be out of school for the remainder of the 2015-2016 school year. Unfortunately, as a new teacher, she doesn't have enough Sick Leave to cover the school days through June 17th, nor is she able to receive Sick Leave donations because she's not in the BFT/BUSD Sick Leave Bank.

Given all of this, her friends, colleagues, and union have put together this GoFundMe page so that, together, we can at least help her cover the lost income of several weeks' unpaid leave from school. 

Whatever you can give will be deeply, deeply appreciated by Tasha and her family.
