On June 8, 2015, Shabaka Shakur was released from prison after 27 years of wrongful incarceration. Based on a fabricated confession by disgraced former Detective Louis Scarcella, and false statements by a single eyewitness, Mr. Shakur was convicted of crimes he did not commit.
