SUPPORTS VONA’S FIGHT AGAINST CANCER

Dear family and friends,

As many of you know, our family recently received some devastating news. On Tuesday, January 11th Vona went in to the ER at St. Mary’s Hospital with stroke like symptoms. A CT scan was done that showed a mass on the right side of her brain. That same evening an MRI was done that confirmed that there was indeed a tumor. Friday morning, Vona underwent surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible. After the biopsy, Vona was diagnosed with GBM, which is a malignant cancer of the brain and very aggressive.

Vona is currently still admitted at St Mary’s Hospital where she is undergoing rehab, which she will be doing for several more weeks. The oncology doctor has set a treatment plan which will start soon after rehab is complete. The current plan is for Vona to undergo 30 radiation treatments Monday through Friday with Chemotherapy every day.

Vona is a highly motivated to fight this cancer and we are all optimistic, but she will need help to fight this battle. She will need a great deal of financial support to assist with medical expenses and non-medical expenses.

Vona is a beloved wife, mother, nana and great nana with many cherished friends. It is hard to ask but we humbly ask for you to support Vona in this fight and pray for her strength!
