******** UPDATE ********

Thanks to all of you who supported Parnell's remission trip! The trip has been postponed as Parnell is still fighting to get to remission. His treatment process has been unpredictable with many unexpected changes and procedures along the way. Overall, his road to recovery is more complex than we hoped it would be, but we have not lost faith. He is currently healing from another operation, and with this extended treatment comes additional expenses. The impact of this diagnosis on his health and finances is heavy, and could not have been planned for. Please consider donating to assist with in-home health care, housing, and transportation expenses.

One of the biggest and newest cost is necessary in-home care after having a colostomy bag put in. He will not be able to do anything on his own for some time. Additionally, his doctors believe he might need an additional surgery in the very near future. Please find it in your hearts to help him at this time. He has no other options to get this needed and necessary assistance. He has not given up faith, and he will continue to be the positive, and encouraging person that we all know and love.

My name is Parnell Fleming and I am someone who believes that everything we go through makes us the best version of ourselves. No failures, just redirection.

With that being said, I find myself in the biggest fight of my life; I am fighting and praying my way to victory against Stage 4 anal cancer. Initially, and selfishly, I attempted to fight this battle alone. I didn’t intend on letting anyone know until I had beaten this illness. However, God had different plans. I realized that I would not be able to go through this alone and, though difficult at first, I eventually shared my diagnosis with more and more people. I realized that to persevere through this condition, I needed my village and community of loved ones by my side. I am extremely grateful for my community and the people who have been by my side day in and day out.

Thank you to the prayer warriors going to God on my behalf! Thank you to the individuals who were concerned about my mental health! Thank you to the ones who made phone calls to check up on me, and the individuals making sure I had food to eat! Lastly, thank you to the ones who pushed through Atlanta traffic to get me to every appointment, even multiple times in a day. Those were exceptionally long and draining days, and I thank you for sticking with me through them all.

When I shared my condition with you all, I received an overwhelming amount of love, kindness, and prayers. Many of you reached out to me to find out how you could support me in this healing process. This is your opportunity.

I have been undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment for the last month. With every visit, I am making progress and feeling stronger. The pain is a lot to endure at times, but I am pushing through. I know that brighter days are on the other side of this mountain, and that is what keeps me going. When this process is done, I WILL celebrate my life and victory over this illness.

Please share a few words of encouragement for Parnell, and keep him in your prayers.
