Help a Courageous Woman Recover After 2 Open-Heart Surgeries
Donation protected
Hello friends, neighbors, and caring strangers,
I’m writing on behalf of someone very close to me who has shown incredible strength through a devastating medical crisis. To protect her privacy, she prefers to remain anonymous here, but I am fully willing to verify her identity and documentation privately with GoFundMe or trusted individuals if needed.
In March 2024, she was diagnosed with severe mitral valve regurgitation, a dangerous heart condition requiring open-heart surgery. She had her first surgery to repair the valve in September. Despite everyone’s hopes, she never fully recovered, and by December her heart capacity had fallen to just 40%.
For months, she kept telling her doctor she was still extremely unwell. After trying multiple medications without improvement, she finally had a transesophageal endoscopy. This revealed her mitral valve was leaking again in a different spot—and now her tricuspid valve was leaking, too.
On May 21, 2025, she had to undergo a second major open-heart surgery to replace the mitral valve and repair the tricuspid valve.
Since September 2024, she has been unable to work in the office because she was already in heart failure. She used all her sick leave recovering from the first surgery. When this second surgery became necessary, she had no paid time off left—no sick leave, no paycheck.
Right now, she is surviving on just $700 a month, about one-fifth of her usual income. Her rent alone is $1,350 per month, not including utilities, groceries, or medical costs.
While she is slowly regaining strength, she still gets exhausted easily and cannot walk long distances. Her doctor has signed her out of work for three more months to help her recover fully. She hopes to start working remotely in mid-August and return to the office by November.
How You Can Help:
Your support will help cover:
• Rent and essential bills during unpaid medical leave
• Out-of-pocket costs for two major surgeries
• Prescriptions and medical equipment
• Transportation to appointments and follow-up care
• Basic living expenses while she heals
Every donation helps relieve some of this enormous burden so she can focus on recovering without the constant fear of losing her home.
If you’re unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this fundraiser.
Thank you so much for caring, sharing, and standing by someone who has endured more in a year than many face in a lifetime.
Note: To protect her privacy, her name and identifying details are not shared publicly, but all information can be verified privately if needed.
For the same reason, personal photos are not included. The image shown here is a symbolic representation of her medical journey.
