For over 8 years, One Deen Group has been serving the Sierra Leone Muslim community through impactful Islamic, educational, social, and media programs. Thousands of Muslims across the country—students, youth, scholars, and families—have benefited directly from our initiatives.
Many Muslims, especially Sisters in Sierra Leone struggle to access education due to bias against hijab. One Deen provides the rare, respectful, and supportive environment they desperately need. Losing the Institute would deprive them of their only comfortable educational home.
However, for the past 2 years, we have faced serious financial challenges due to the difficulty of securing sustainable funding in Sierra Leone or from International Donors or Partners. This threatens the continuation of our Islamic activities, institutions, and programs that are a lifeline for many Muslims in our communities.
Without immediate intervention before the end of this year, the educational center may be forced to close—directly affecting the very students who rely on us the most, especially hijabi sisters who mostly have nowhere else to turn for a safe, Islam-friendly learning environment.
