7/19 - Nick has been back to work about a month an half. Things are slowly going back to what ever normal is. Well Miriam has been getting sicker and sicker. She was told at a routine check up last Friday the 14th that she needs more testing but more than likely will need a full Gall Bladder removed in the next 2 -3 weeks. Which or course is not something we have in there very shabby bank account. Also she will not be able to lift anything over a cup of coffee for 2-3 weeks. Everyone keeps saying this is an easy surgery, well guess what it may be but easy is not words you put with her health problems..... She is alittle concerned because Nick and her mom are not able to take off much. Someone has to be with parker. And.... Amylin starts her very first say of Kindergarten August 7th. We were all suppose to meet the teachers and see her room August 1st. So this is coming at a stressful time in everyone's life. We know God will take are of it but they already do not have the money for normal bills on top of $250 admission fee to hospital and any other bills for meds and time off from work or take out to feed the kids.
We will take donations, gift cards, and of course your prayers! Thank you for reading!!
6/23 - we found out that the check we will get next Friday (30th) will not be a full check. Nicks first check that will be normal is July 14th. We hope to stop needing help from others when the normal checks start July 14th. We can not thank you enough for helping us. This has been the longest 9 months of our married life. Amylin is having some tests run on herself June 30th and some more in July. Prayers and money guidance are appreciated.
Rent, cell phones and some medical bills are due next friday. If you can help that would be amazing. Share if you know someone that can help as well.
God bless
6/6/17 - Nick starts back to work tonight but we will have no income til June 30th. Bills don't care if we are not gonna have any income til then. So we are begging for anyone that can help give us enough to make it 3.5 weeks. We have regular bills, my medicines, utilities, copays, and all types of things due before 30th. I have asked most of the places we owe and they said they cant extend things that are due this week and next week to the 30th.
Please help. My meds/copays (miriam) are close $200 and I just cant go cold turkey.
5/24/17 - Nick's doctor is sending him back to work even though his Physical Therapist and his family all know he is not ready since he reinjured his back 2.5 weeks ago when Miriam passed out and he tried to catch her. He is in a lot of pain and if he does much of anything he is in tears. He has to be able to lift 75 lbs and do a lot of getting in and out of the car when back at work.
If he starts work next week there will be no more short term disability payments from this moment on or pay checks for a month solid (takes a month to get automatic withdrawals set up, work a 2 weeks, process and deposit by the end of the next 2 weeks) and they don't have anything to fall back on right now.
They have used all savings, kids savings, college fund, sold things, tax check, and anything they have been given. So for at least a month they need every bill to be taken care of and gift cards for food.
Miriam has had some very bad days lately where she has not be able to get out of bed which means she needs to go to all her doctors she has been letting slide and get her chemo shots and expensive meds started back and possibly more experimental treatments for lupus.
Anything you can give would be great. If you want to mail gift cards please message me or them on facebook and get their address. Captain D's, Wendy's, Chick fil la, Abbays, Danvers, and places like that the kids like and are not expensive.
Amylin, who is 5, is also having to go to doctor for a bladder infection. It has been a month and is not going away. She needs to she a specialist which of course is more money in copays and meds that was not expected.

***UPDATE 1/11/17****
Nick is scheduled for surgery on 1/31. They are swamped with bills because after what little they do get from short term disibility alot of it goes to keeping their insurance going and not much else comes home. They have used all avenues of help and resources and do not have any more help available. Any help would be greatly appreciated so they can keep their apartment and pay their bills. Miriam is suppose to have a procedure next week and right now she cant afford to after waiting for over 2 months to get it scheduled. Miriam is chronically disabled and cant work but still fighting for her own disability from state. They have a 2 and 4 year old.
Thank you,
Jared Koonce
**THERE IS A THANKSGIVING UPDATE UNDER UPDATE TAB!! Please look and share and help if you can.**
Hi, may name is Jared. I'm trying to help raise funds to support a family in need.
My cousin, Nick, and his wife, Miriam, have been experiencing a rough time with medical problems.
Nick has been out of work since Labor Day due to hurting his back off work. It took almost 2.5 months before short term disability checks started and they are SO VERY SMALL the family can not keep up with bills. He normally works 1 full time job and 2 part time jobs but when he is not able to work the main one he cant do the small 2 that have no short term disability plans so they are just a write off. He found out mid October he has 3 bulging disk and a left pinched nerve to the LOWER back.
Rent and bills are stacking up. They need $650 for rent alone and if rent is not paid, the rent will continue to increase. At this current time we do not know when he will return to work, Short Term disability checks will stop and it will take a month before his normal checks start to come thru again. So when ever the dr gives the go ahead to go back to work he will have another 4 week period with ZERO money coming in.
Nick and Miriam are trying to do what they can to provide for their two young children, pay bills, and keep their heads above water. They normally live on a thread but now that thread is gone and it will be January before they put their finaces back together enough to do it alone.
Nick does not know that I am setting up this page for them. It would mean so much to them, and me, if you would help out a little bit. Any amount will help greatly!
I am asking for a small amount of $1,000. This will cover the rent that as due and would relieve a little pressure on medical bills and grocery bills. If we raise more, that would be more helpful. Anyone who has had to raise small children, support a family, pay rent, or pay medical bills, knows how hard it is to do.
Miriam is not able to work due to she is permanently disabled. She has been fighing for state disability since May 2015. She is currently on the waiting list to see a Judge. She was told it would be about 8 months to a year. It is hard for her to do most things. No one day is the same as another. She may feel like getting out and then pay for it for the next 3 or 4 days. Some days she uses a cane, others wheelchair and sometimes nothing.
Please, out of the bottom of my heart, i ask of you to help assist this family in need. I ask of you to ask yourselves, "What would I do in this situation? Who would I turn to for help?"
I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” -- Acts 20:35 NKJV
But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. -- Hebrews 13:16 NKJV
He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord,
And He will pay back what he has given. -- Proverbs 19:17 NKJV
