Support for Mandy's Open Heart Surgery

Dear Friends and Family,

As some of you may know, I am scheduled to undergo open heart surgery on June 18, 2024 at the Mayo Clinic. While we are hopeful for a successful procedure and recovery, the financial burden is already significant. Despite having insurance, there will still be substantial out-of-pocket expenses that we will have to manage.

Reaching out for help, especially when it deals with one's health or finances, is always a difficult decision and one we have thought long and hard about making. Even though the surgery is still a few weeks away, the stress of undergoing such an extensive procedure continues to grow each day. And watching Grey's Anatomy on a constant loop does not always calm the nerves. Fletcher and I could not be more proud to be a part of such a wonderful community. From our family to our theatre friends and everyone along the way, you have welcomed us with open arms and been such an amazing support system. The compassion and support that our community has shown time and time again when people are in need is heart-warming and inspiring.

So now with a heavy heart, no pun intended, we ask for your support. It is our hope to raise funds to help with the following anticipated costs:

**Medical Bills: Insurance will cover about two-thirds of the total cost for the surgery, doctors, and hospital stay, but the remaining balance is expected to be substantial.

**Accommodation & Travel Expenses: This is for the out-of-pocket expenses that are required to travel back and forth to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for the surgery and any follow-up appointments. In addition, we are having to stay for 2 weeks following the surgery at an Airbnb near the hospital.

**Meals: Daily meals during the hospital stay, while traveling, and once we get home. (Additional information regarding a meal train or something in lieu of this will be posted at a later date.)

We know that this is a big ask and we will forever be eternally grateful for any amount you are able to provide. Your generous support will help alleviate some of the financial stress during this challenging time. Many have asked how they can help, and contributing to this fund would mean the world to us.
