Hi, my name is Lauren and I am fundraising for my mom, Lisa, who is battling ALS. Lisa is a mother, sister, wife, friend and fearless fighter. Lisa was diagnosed with bulbar onset amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in 2021 after experiencing symptoms which began in 2020.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need.
Lisa is a talented gymnast, dancer, cyclist, fitness trainer and artist. Lisa takes life head-on with a smile on her face and encourages those around her to live every day to it’s fullest. She is a light in the lives of many and continues to inspire others with her radiant courage, love, positivity, strength and kindness. Lisa is a mom of three, sibling of four, a loving wife, and a friend to many.
As Lisa’s daughter, it is my mission to give my mom the care that she needs so she is able to live each day to its fullest. As a 27 year old, I try my best to juggle the many demands that arise with this disease while balancing work and life demands. And as we battle ALS, my stepdad is also fighting another horrible disease, dementia, which makes it difficult for each of them to care for one another. With the help of talented caregivers, I feel assured knowing my mom is receiving the care she needs and deserves every day. Although incredibly helpful, care services are also very expensive. If you are able, we would love your support in helping Lisa continue with the care that she needs day to day. We are so incredibly grateful for you love, support and donations.
Friendly reminder to cherish every moment with your loved ones and never forget to tell them how much you love them.
