Karen landed in the hospital after being badly injured getting caught in the middle of some violence that broke out on the street. Currently she cannot walk and because she is a diabetic, is still bleeding from her cuts. She had a couple surgeries already to treat her injuries, and her care team wants to send her to rehabilitation to get her back on her feet again.
Due to the nature of the American health care system, Karen recently lost her Medi-cal, and because she cannot yet walk, is not sure how she's going to work to take care of her medical bills.
A little about Karen: she is 25 and works a CNA (certified nursing assistant) helping patients on hospice, work she was inspired to do after seeing her grandmother on hospice care. In her free time Karen likes to hang out with her family, read, explore, go fishing, and trying new things. She is loved by all who meet her!
Because Karen's apartment is up a flight of stairs and Karen cannot yet walk, Karen will be staying with a girlfriend when she is discharged from the hospital.
Karen is a strong person and it's not easy for her to ask for help. Of course, those who love her are glad she is doing it. Every little bit helps, even $5, she and we are very grateful. Prayers and good vibes also very welcome.
