Support Jeffery's Recovery After Life-Changing Accident

This fundraiser is to support our loyal, hard-working, tenured employee, Jeffery Chambers. Jeffery is 63 years old and has worked for our company, Media Real Estate, for 28.5 years. He works as a maintenance technician specializing in appliance installation and repair. Over the years, Jeffery has become an integral part of our company, capturing the hearts of our residents, tenants, vendors, and co-workers through his customer service, personable attitude, and dedicated work ethic.

Unfortunately, while driving to work on Tuesday, 1/21/2025, Jeffery was involved in a serious car accident on Interstate 95 in Delaware County, PA. While trying to avoid a disabled vehicle in front of him, he was rear-ended by a Ford Bronco at a high rate of speed. He had to be cut out of his SUV and was rushed to Crozer Chester Medical Center for emergency back surgery. After that, he was flown to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he stayed in the ICU for 3 weeks and was recently moved to the ICU step-down unit. The accident resulted in a severed spinal cord, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down, and he has a damaged esophagus, requiring him to need a g-tube for feeding temporarily. Thankfully, he still has movement in his neck and arms.

Jeffery is an avid churchgoer and deacon at the Resurrection Community Church in Philadelphia, and he is an active member of his community, frequently helping his neighbors maintain their lawns, etc. He has a large family and church family who are providing him and his wife, Jean, with love, support, and prayers.

When he is discharged from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Jeffery will go to Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation Hospital to continue his road to recovery. Throughout this entire situation, Jeffery and his wife remain strong, hopeful, and faithful. We’re asking for support from anyone who knows Jeffery, has worked with him, or simply wants to help.
