Thank you to everyone who has checked in, donated and sent positive energy our way! It has been SO appreciated. James has completed three out of seven weeks of radiation and chemotherapy. As I mentioned previously, the side effects of treatment are rough. He has experienced fatigue, a burning sensation in his throat, and trouble keeping food down due to metallic aftertastes and nausea. He has lost quite a bit of weight and will be out of work for the remainder of his treatment. With that said - these symptoms are temporary during the duration of treatment, and everything is on course and he's remained in good spirits. Your donations and love have meant the world to us. Hi there! As you may know by now, the most lovable, charismatic and generous person, James Hoback, has recently been diagnosed with stage 3 squamous cell carcinoma, a serious form of skin cancer. It has presented as a large tumor in his neck, and his oncology team has recommended seven weeks of concurrent radiation and chemotherapy. Given the severity and side effects of his treatment, he has been prepared to face a period of intense fatigue, nausea, complications swallowing and trouble keeping food down. We won't know the reality of these possibilities until he begins treatment mid-July.

As just an initial approach to treating his cancer, the costs have already amounted to $39,000. We are applying for finanical aid and charity programs, but the assistance we can receive from these resources are unknown at this time.

We are reaching out to his incredible community for support. Any and every contribution made will go directly toward medical expenses, medications, and day-to-day needs while James focuses on healing and recovery. He has been in such great spirits because of each of you, and your optimism and support are going further than we could express. We are beyond grateful for each and every one of you!
