Support Jacob's Long Road to Recovery

Donation protected
As some already know, my brother Jacob was in a horrible motorcycle accident in Tucson when driver struck him on the highway. We are incredibly grateful that he is still alive. We do not know what his life is going to look like in the next few years. It will be a long time before he walks again, but we are hopeful. Right now, we need your help to plan for his recovery and his future.

First priority is to get him able to bear weight on at least two limbs before moving him into a rehab facility. We are all taking turns to financially, physically and emotionally support him.

He has had four surgeries including a 12-hour pelvic and hip reconstruction surgery. His only semi functioning limb is his right arm. He needs a team of nurses in order to lift his body for any daily body functions.

Any donations will help tremendously. Please reach out if you have anything you’d like to share with Jacob or have any questions for us. We are here with him. We will keep everyone posted with his condition. Thank you.

On February 3rd Jacob was hit while riding his motorcycle home from work. At this time he is fully disabled and still in the ICU. There have also been some major complications, and we are disappointed that he is back in the ICU as of 02/25/26. As of last week, he is now at a specialty hospital.

Jacob is incredibly strong, disciplined, and is used to hard work on his body. He is very motivated to get better as quickly as he can. He is a mechanical engineer and had just started a new job when he had this accident and is unable to continue work for some time. He had also just started pursuing his MA in computer science through Georgia Tech. He wants to continue doing all of these things to the best of his ability as soon as possible.

I want to make sure he has the support to make the best recovery possible for him. Right now, there’s significant financial pressure on him to get the help he needs as well as his expenses such as rent and food. Our mom has been with him every day, coordinating his care, advocating for him medically, and managing the practical decisions that come with a long hospitalization. The financial and logistical strain of his recovery is significant for all of us. I am between work, Amelia is full-time in her first year of law school, and Gunnar is starting school again in the fall. We are taking turns flying out to help take care of him.

We are hoping to get some support to help with just the financial stress of it all. We are also not sure what his state insurance is going to cover. We have never done anything like this before and honestly have no idea what the expenses of this type of disability will be. He also still has his bills and student loan payments, rent, etc.

Thank you for helping Jacob and us get through this. Please share. We truly appreciate any support and we are so grateful that he is alive.

All our love,
Olivia, Amelia, Gunnar
