On June 19th we welcomed our son Jackson to our family. To our surprise he was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate. We are extremely fortunate as Jackson really has a best case scenario when it comes to babies born with clefts. It appears that his condition will only require two surgeries which we are very grateful for.
We have decided to have Dr. Reinisch, one of the best surgeons in the US concerning cleft lips, to perform the surgery. We are looking forward to getting his lip and palate fixed in order to alleviate some of the issues he's really been struggling with caused by the lip and cleft palate.
Oct 1, was Jackson's first surgery. They repaired his lip and straightened his little nose. We were blown away at the transformation! The doctors did an amazing job and we're so grateful for choosing Dr Reinisch..
We are so thankful for everyone's support. We probably couldn't have gotten him the quality of care we did without all of your help. Thank you once again for all of the love and support each of you has given. We're glad this first surgery is out of the way and hopeful that his second surgery on February 29th will be his last.
The second surgery Feb 29th, will address the palate. The muscles which didn't form properly and the hole in his throat will be realigned and repaired. This surgery will provide Jackson support in his speech. With this surgery we will be paying for the surgeon, anatheisiologist, and an overnight stay in the hospital.
We are trying to raise the money to help pay for a portion of his medical expenses and lessen the burden on our family. We want to thank you in advance for any support you can give.
