Supporting Nepal - GrowByData
Violent earthquakes and aftershocks in Nepal are terrorizing citizens and shocking the world. Thankfully everyone on our team is safe, but they and the community will continue facing challenges...(landmarks before and after - NYTimes)
Friends and colleagues familiar with our technology company, GrowByData, have reached out wanting to help. Amongst our team of remarkable individuals there are communities and homes to rebuild.
At the same time, an organization we're close to called "Khushi Helping Street Children" struggles to support young boys and girls who have no parents, no family, and no shelter. Kushi means "joy" in Nepali.
The picture at the top of this page was taken the day after the 7.8 earthquake hit. Khushi Nepal volunteers reached Satya Uddhyan School in Lalitpur after a 7 hour walk. They made the journey to assist the school's principal Ms. Rashmi Kafle and 40 children.
The goal of this fund is to satisfy immediate needs of the people mentionned above, while focusing on transition support after the aide groups leave. Theresa, currently in Kathmandu, will prioritize funds accordingly.(landmarks before and after - NYTimes )
Thank you for joining us in doing our part. Any donation you are comfortable making will have a very direct impact.
P.S. 100% of proceeds will go directly to Nepalis in need (minus GoFundMe's 7.9%), prioritized to our colleagues in Nepal and the Khushi Helping Street Children organization that we care about. These donations are not tax deductible. A full accounting will be posted to document how funds have been used.(picture from CNN article showing Nepalis camping out)
