In the early hours of the morning, around 5am on 12 January, our beloved friend Zara was involved in a serious car accident at no fault of her own in Denmark, Western Australia. In a single moment, her life, and the lives of her young family, have been forever changed.

Zara sustained life-changing injuries and was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital in critical condition, where she remains in stable condition. She is undergoing ongoing treatment and multiple surgeries.

First responders and hospital staff have repeatedly commented on her extraordinary strength, determination, and resilience in the face of unimaginable trauma.

Zara is a devoted mother to her young 3 yo daughter Alice and a loving fiancé to Coen Logan. Their home is in Denmark, WA - a close knit community that has shown incredible kindness and support since the accident. Being together as a family is essential to Zara’s recovery.

Living regionally brings additional challenges. Denmark has limited access to the specialised health services Zara will need in the months ahead. As a result, the family must maintain their current rental in Denmark, whilst Coen and Alice travel to and from Perth, a 4.5 hour trip each way, to be beside Zara.

Zara’s goal, and an important part of her healing, is to return home to Denmark when she is able, to recover within the community that has shown her such compassion and care. Keeping this possibility alive is helping Zara through the trauma and giving her something hopeful to work toward.

This GoFundMe has been created to ease the financial burden so the family can focus on what truly matters: staying together, healing together, and knowing there is light at the end of the tunnel.
