Supporting Yahya in his fight against Leukaemia

Hi everyone, we are Alisha (13), Ahyaan (10), Rayan (10), Dean (8) & Afsana (4) (first cousins of Yahya), and Jasmine (3) (sister of Yahya), and hoping to raise some money for him.

Here is his story...

Aydin Yahya Ali is 7 years old and our amazing cool cousin. He loves monster trucks, terminator, and other typical cool boy things. He is also very clever at school. Sadly, just before the summer break this year, he was suffering from feverish symptoms and severe one-sided stomach pains for a while and had to take time off school. Symptoms were very much like appendicitis, but tests ruled out that it wasn't such the case. After some trips to the doctors, he was diagnosed with throat infection and prescribed antibiotics. Yahya was taking the antibiotics, but symptoms continued to get worse. Day 8 of antibiotics, conditions worsened considerably to the point where his mother thought he might pass away - he was extremely pale and yellow, weak and in agonising pain - at which point, the mother had no choice but to contact the emergency services at 999.

On Friday, 21st July 2023, a blood test at A&E confirmed that Yahya had a dangerously low blood count and his parents received the tragic news that he had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL).

Over the last month or so, Yahya has gone through so much pain, tears and stress almost every single day, yet shown great bravery whilst battling through chemotherapy, bone marrow biopsies, numerous blood transfusions, lumbar punctures, infections, allergic reactions to treatments, and countless overnight stays in hospital.

Last week, a further test revealed that Yahya's cancer cells have not reduced as expected, and he has fallen into the higher risk category for Leukaemic children. He is now going through the highest dose of chemotherapy and suffering from even worse side effects, like painful boils around his bottom, temperature keeps rising and causing a reduction in white blood cells... and many more.

Yahya's younger sister, Jasmine, is helping his older brother get through all of this, and she has also been amazing.

As there is still 3 years of treatment to go, we would like everyone's desperate prayers as much as possible for his cancer to go away for good, and he leads a normal, long and healthy life, God Willing. We would also like to raise some funds for Yahya, for him to buy all the fun things from his wishlist (anything that will put a smile on his face), and enjoy outgoings with us and his parents to make everlasting memories.
