Supporting Wesley Rice and his battle with Cancer

My name is Stephanie, and I am working to raise funds for the man I asked to be my dad twenty-nine years ago, Billy "Wesley" Rice.

It is a heartache to share that recently dad, or pop pop to the littles that love him most, was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer.

As most people would expect of a man known for having a heart bigger than his body, he took a breath, and decided to fight. We've had appointments, ran tests, and prayed more than I ever thought possible... but sometimes you don't get a choice. We were informed that it was stage 4 and had spread throughout his body. What started as hopeful journey into treatment has become a prayer for time.

In the weeks since this news, he has

unfortunately lost ground on the field of his battle. As we gather friends and family to help hold him up it became very clear that finances were something that would continue to affect both Wesley and his wife Diane as he walks on through this journey.

It the hope of myself and my siblings that we can rally the war cry and love from near far to help with medical, transportation, and care expenses. It became obvious very fast that money makes movements and provides security. The bulk of the funds collected will go towards the medical and living cost outside the benefits of insurance. Trying to repay the love and care that he has given our family is impossible, but if we can alleviate some of this stress as Pop spends his time with his grandbabies it will have been worth it to ask.
