Supporting Wes & Family through battle with cancer

I am absolutely heartbroken to let you all know that Weslie passed away this morning. It gives me solace to know that he was peaceful and comfortable in our home, where he was surrounded by nothing but love.

To know Wes was to know one of the most amazing people you’ll ever come across. He was so smart, there was nothing he did not have the answer to. This man could fix absolutely anything and did it happily. I pray that I am able to instill even part of that same knowledge in our boys.

My heart will never recover from this loss - but I will live every day remembering him and making sure all of our babies do to. I know he’s up there revving his engine in heaven. “If you’re scared you’re not winning” I love you babe, from this day until my last.

Weslie update - he is home and comfy in our own space, and watching Formula 1 as requested

All I have is a whirlwind, devastating update. I’m making this because I know we have so many friends and family that have been praying for Wes.

The UK surgeon called and told me that operating would not help, and that he thought Wes was probably too weak to operate. He told us he thought we were in the last few weeks and that we should make them meaningful. His oncologist at Baptist looked at another CT scan and said that the chemotherapy just isn’t working. Palliative doctors came in and told us that maybe conversations hadn’t been as honest as they should be and they let us know that they think we have precious days left.

I brought our boys up here last night to spend a few hours and Courtney brought Rhi too and is coming back today. I’ve been here with him all night and plan to stay as long as I’m allowed. Hospice just came in and took over care.

I am absolutely heartbroken and devastated. We didn’t have enough time but I am thankful for all the time we did have and all the precious babies we were blessed with.

Please pray for Wes’s comfort and for the healing of all the broken hearts to come.

I am making this Gofundme for my sister and her family. At the beginning of 2024 Wes went into the hospital for complications from his Ulcerative Colitis - at that time they gave him an emergency ileostomy. While they were performing that surgery they found cancer and removed it. From that point until January 1, 2025 he was assured that he had no markers for cancer. In the beginning of December Wes had a two week hospitalization and was sent home, they did a colonoscopy the next day and a small procedure and still he was assured he did not have any markers for cancer. He ended up going back to the hospital on Christmas Eve and has not been home since. On New Years Day they went in for an exploratory surgery and then called my sister with what the surgeon deemed devastating news and let her know that Wes has diffuse cancer through his abdomen. The following days were a whirlwind of information - they almost immediately sent in palliative care to talk about hospice. The only silver lining came from the oncologist who said that there is still a fight to be fought, and we are not giving up. Unfortunately the type of cancer Wes has is a kind that cannot be seen on CT Scans, X-Rays, or on bloodwork so it is going to be hard to track. He started chemotherapy on Friday and will hopefully be allowed to come home in the next few days. He has an appointment with UK to start exploring more direct treatment options. There is a long hard road ahead but he has so much to fight for, his daughter Rhiannon (10), and his sons Ryatt and Colter (4 & 3) are counting on their daddy being with them for many years to come.

I am creating this gofundme in hopes of easing the strain of a family abruptly falling to a single income household. Any donations are greatly appreciated and will go towards helping with household bills and time that will need to be spent off work. Thank you for taking the time to read this and pray with us.
