Supporting Vicky Hester
Donation protected
After talking with Vicky's wife Ashley she has said so many gracious friends have been asking how they can help contribute to Vicky's recovery. On Saturday June 16th, Vicky suffered a brain aneurysm and is in critical but stable condition in the ICU.
Vicky has been a figurehead in Richmond's LGBTQ community for over 40 years. She has been a mother figure, sister, friend, and ally and has always created a safe space for everyone to be themselves no matter how they identify.
Shes raised thousands of dollars and donated tons of food to the food bank, MCC church and Fan Free Clinic among others. To know her is to love her. Vicky is looking at many months of recovery and we want to come together to help cushion the rising healthcare bills and help take care of her day to day. Any amount or a share would be greatly appreciated.
As one of her longest friends, I am Eric Clary and I have not only worked with Vicky for the past 16 years, we have been friends for that amount of time as well and in lieu of her being in the hospital, she has asked me to operate her day to day, help pay bills, and keep her updated on the status of everyone's concern for her.
As the funds are withdrawn to my personal banking account, they will go towards helping Vicky with her medical bills, along with any incurring costs that have happened for her while being out of work. These funds will be given to her in person via check on the day the funds are released for her to take care of what she needs to from missing work and catching up on hospital bills. She would like everyone to know that any funds that are not used for this purpose will be donated to a non-profit charity in the Richmond area.
I will personally be handling these funds and giving them directly to her.
