Supporting Us through Cancer

Hello to all landing on this page today. For those of you who know us, you know the struggles we have had this past year with Ramsin’s cancer diagnosis. For those that don’t, let me give you a little background.

In November 2021, we noticed a lump in Ramsin’s neck so of course visited the doctor. Ramsin was sent in for an ultrasound which came back suspicious. He was then sent for a CT scan. Which came back with terrifying words like “Lymphoma” and “Metastatic Lymphoma”. To further investigate and MRI was completed. This came back with a less scary term “neurogenic tumour” which is usually benign. Needless to say that’s what we were hoping for. A biopsy was done to confirm exactly what this mass was. On January 5th 2022, we received the devastating news that Ramsin had Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the neck. That same day we found out I was pregnant with our second. Needless to say the thoughts of worry and concern were overwhelming. Trying to stay positive was trying. Ramsin begun treatment on March 8th which consisted of 35 rounds of radiation over a 7 week period. And 3 high dose Cisplatin chemotherapy. The treatment was harsh - the recovery even harder. At Ramsin’s 3 month scan we saw a lymph node that was inflamed. His oncologist said it is normal and usually disappears by the 6th month mark. Needless to say it didn’t. It grew. It was biopsied and came back cancerous. On Dec 15th 2022, Ramsin underwent a Radical Right Neck Dissection to remove all the lymph nodes, muscle, main nerve and internal jugular vein. THANKFULLY all cancer has since been removed. That being said, all of the treatment and recovery has left Ramsin unable to work for the past year and will keep him off for at least another 6 months worth of time. The bills are piling. We have run out of all options and need help. So I have decided to reach out to all of you. Anything will make a difference for us. We have 2 beautiful girls who depend on us - Vada (3) and Cali (7 months). Being on maternity leave has just aided the financial strain.

the funds received will help keep us afloat with our monthly expenses until Ramsin is well enough to return to work.
