Supporting Troy Davis

Troy was a healthy individual that was blindsided with Stage 4 colon cancer less than a year ago.  This illness was unforeseen and has now taken a turn for the worse limiting Troy’s activity.

35-year-old Troy Davis is the father of 2-year-old Levi, 6-year-old Vincent and husband to Amanda.  Troy is also a valued employee of Delta SubSea for the past 5 years; a true friend to his coworkers and an overall great person.

On October 5, 2017, Troy went to the Dr. with stomach complications.  On October 6th, doctor advised him to go to the ER because his symptoms were processing quicker than they could find a resolution. At the hospital they performed CT scans and found a complete obstruction in Troy’s colon. They performed a procedure to remove the obstruction and performed biopsy tests on the obstruction. A week later it was confirmed that Troy had stage four Adenocarcinoma of sigmoid colon with metastasis to liver.

Upon completing the healing process after surgery, Troy began his first chemo treatment on December 28, 2017.  This treatment consisted of a combination of four different types of chemo. After six rounds of this regiment, Troy's body responded very well with the chemo and the tumors were shrinking tremendously as well his numbers. In June 2018, Troy had to stop chemo to have another corrective surgery performed (as a result of the first one in October 2017). Troy also had to stop chemo during recovery. Troy’s cancer grew back quickly, spreading to a spot on his spine, hip, groin, and his liver was compromised again. They did one round of chemo upon recovery of surgery then stopped treatment for radiation on his spine and hip tumor. During this time off chemo, Troy’s liver tumors continued to grow. In August, Troy began having a great amount of pain in his abdominal area. He went to the ER at MD Anderson Downtown and it was determined that he had a clogged bile duct. Two weeks later they placed a drain in to assist with relieving the clogged bile duct. Troy’s liver is very compromised with disease and is creating acids in his body and a large amount of fluids in his abdomen. He has developed several fungal infections in his blood and abdomen that his body and antibiotics are having a hard time fighting off.  There are no other surgeries they can perform and with his kidney levels decreasing along with the infections they cannot perform chemo anymore either.

Please join Troy’s family, friends and colleagues as we share his story in hopes of finding support for his family during this difficult time.  All donations will be spent to help cover daily living expenses for his family, medical costs and childcare, to name a few.

Your positive thoughts and support are greatly appreciated, and we cannot thank you enough for your donation.   With your help we can reach our goal of helping Troy!
