**Another update: As of 4/15, we've sent nearly 1,000 meals to the front lines. We've partnered with Brine Chicken In NYC for their chicken for courage campaign. Each meal we send to the frontlines, they match, helping us send hot plates of food for only $5. The money raised here is going a long way & we can't thank you all enough!!
Old updates:Quick update for all supporters: First wave of supplies arrived Thursday, 4/2. Food drop-off services begins Saturday, 4/3. The hotel is in dire need of 5 gallon water jugs, and we are working on sourcing now. Quality, whole food is expensive. Please share this with your friends and families. On Thursday, March 26, Anastasia Zvonek (and thousands of others) flew to New York City to lend her mind, body and soul to the global pandemic. Anastasia will be assigned at various hospitals but her first assignment has been at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, New York. Elmhurst is at the center of the crisis in New York City. The New Yorker Hotel (as well as many other locations) graciously opened their doors and while the hotel is doing what they can to accomodate an influx of RNs NP/PA's, they are simply not moving fast enough.
If these people cannot take care of themselves, they will not be able to take care of others. It is not complicated and they need our help.
Things we will be sending them:
- Heavy Duty garbage bags
- Extra set of scrubs of all sizes
- Hand sanitizer (if we can find it)
- Thermometers
- Fresh produce & timely meals
- Healthy snacks with low cooking needs (they do not have amenities their rooms)
Money raised here will be used to send these supplies through Amazon Prime as well as boxed meals and pre-packaged snacks.
A donation here is a tremendous gift but please also check-in with your RN, NP, PA and Doctor friends. Each hospital is fighting their own war and could use your support, food, materials & masks .
