Supporting Tracy, Nydia, Quinnette & Jada
Hello everyone, my name is Ashley and I have started this fundraiser to help support one of my dearest friends, Tracy Hamilton. In May, Tracy lost her longtime partner, Ervin “Boo” Turner, to a heart attack. Just a few short weeks later, Tracy’s son, Kianu Hamilton, succumbed to mental illness and completed suicide. Not only did their family lose an amazing father, now they have lost a son and a brother.
Tracy is the sole provider for her family, which includes rent, utilities, medical bills, funeral expenses and two college tuitions. Nydia is an extremely talented opera singer who attends University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jada is an award winning, honor roll high school student who will be attending Drexel University in the fall. Jada is also a type one diabetic and requires consistent and constant medical care.
Tracy and I are both clinical social workers and one of the main foundations of our practice is self-care. It can be incredibly difficult to be a direct service provider when grieving, therefore it is imperative for Tracy to have the appropriate time off to grieve and to get her family affairs in order. I have started this GoFundMe to help provide financial resources for the entire family so their lives, careers, living situation and educational goals are not interrupted.
If you are not able to donate at this time, simply sharing this fundraiser is appreciated by the entire family and myself. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me, Ashley Spitzer.
