Supporting Titi's cancer treatment
Donation protected
Titi (Siphelele Shange) is a young man from Umlazi, South Africa. Growing up there as a poverty stricken orphan, he has always done his best to be a responsible individual and even make a contribution to his own community when he can.
For the duration of his adult life, he has been engaged in an ongoing struggle against the odds to find employment and gain financial independence (the unemployment rate in Umlazi is 35%).
Titi came to Scotland initially through a school exchange trip in his teenage years. We (his host family from 2009) have stayed in touch with him ever since and a few years ago he returned for three months, volunteering with a number of charitable organisations in Edinburgh.
A few months ago, amidst his longest stint in a job yet, he was diagnosed with cancer. For so long he's been fighting for his wellbeing, and now he's fighting for his life.
We are raising funds to pay for the direct costs of the treatment at Isiphingo Hospital. Anything you can donate, of any size, would mean the world.
